Linda Patton received her bachelor’s from Michigan State University and her master’s from Northwestern. Her connection and philanthropy to Indiana University began when she married IU alumnus, Stephen R. Patton. Patton is a co-partner of Dogone Fun! Inc., a pet boarding business in Chicago, Illinois. Formerly, she worked in the Chicago Public School system. She serves on the Board of Directors of A Just Harvest, a nonprofit focused on fighting poverty and hunger in the Rogers Park and greater Chicago community. She also serves as vice chair of Court Theatre, a professional theatre company located in Hyde Park in Chicago. Alongside her husband, she established and continues to fund the Stephen R. Patton Scholarship und in the political science department. Linda and Stephen have also made a generous provision in their estate to endow another scholarship for students with financial need who will matriculate in an academic discipline in the College of Arts & Sciences. For the bequest gift, Patton was welcomed to the Arbutus Society in 2018. In the same year, she was recognized for her support to Indiana University by the Foundation and was inducted into the Presidents Circle at the Benefactor level.
