- Kate Hevner Mueller Outstanding Senior Award - 2019
Olivia Ranseen, from Nashville, Tennessee, is studying environmental management through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She was one of 21 seniors to receive the Kate Hevner Mueller Award in 2019.
In the fall of 2017, Olivia received the IU Student Leadership Campus Catalyst Award for her many meaningful contributions to sustainability efforts on campus and in the broader community. She received the Newman Civic fellowship in 2018, an award given by Campus Compact, a national coalition of colleges and universities whose mission is to promote civic education and community involvement. The fellowship is awarded to students who show a dedication to problem solving community concerns.
Olivia served as an Indiana Sustainability Development Program Extern on the City of Bloomington, Indiana, Food Policy Council. As part of the externship, she researched sustainable food policies and wrote policy briefs to foster relationships between the local food growers and the Bloomington community's restaurants and large institutional and educational entities.
