Dolores Lahrman received an undergraduate degree from St. Francis College, attended Loyola University (Chicago), and received an M.L.S. degree from IU Bloomington. She worked at IU Bloomington as an archivist in University Archives for 26 years. During her retirement reception in 1988, she received the IU Thomas Hart Benton Mural Medallion for Distinguished Achievement from President Ehrlich. Prior to her tenure at IU, she was a nun with the St. Francis Convent and the Carmelite Monastery for 26 years.
Lahrman was author of The History of Mitchell Hall, 1885-1986: Literary Building Birthplace of the Music and Five Arts Departments at Indiana University (Indiana University Archives, 1987).
Lahrman passed away on December 3, 1997, in Bloomington, Indiana, at the age of 77.
