Elizabeth (Bourgeois) Schaller was a four-year letterwinner with the women's swimming program, setting multiple school records in her career as a sprint freestyle and butterfly athlete. She closed her career with six school records and ranked among the program's all-time leaders in podium finishes. She remains among the program's top 10 in the 50 and 100 free as well as the 100 and 200 butterfly.
In addition, she competed in virtually every championship relay of her career, including helping set a school record in the 400-medley relay (3:44.70) at the 2013 Summit League Championships. Her contributions extended far beyond the pool as she was named the university's Most Outstanding Female Student at the 2013 Top 100 Dinner. Previously, she was named the department's 2012 Michael A. Carroll Scholarship winner for her work athletically, academically and in the community. She was involved with IUPUI's Preparing Outstanding Women for Engineering Roles (POWER) Camp, Project Lead the Way and the School of Engineering & Technology Student Council. She earned her degree in mechanical engineering and remains an ambassador for the swimming and diving and E&T programs.
