- Bicentennial Medal - 2020
Bradley D. Cook is an IU alum who received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University. Brad has been with the Indiana University Archives since 1992, and has been its Curator of Photographs since 1996.
As Curator of Photographs he has been primarily responsible in increasing the size of the repository’s image collections from an estimated 500,000 in 1996 to approximately 3,000,000 today. Over the years he has also curated several exhibits including those regarding IU’s original campus at Seminary Square; the Thomas Hart Benton murals; and photographers Charles Cushman, Jack Welpott, and Dave Repp.
Brad is a Fellow at IU’s Center for Integrative Photographic Studies. He is also member of The Society of American Archivists, and The Manuscript Society where he is the David R. Chesnutt Editor for the society’s journal Manuscripts.
In 2020, Bradley D. Cook was presented the Bicentennial Medal for his distinguished service to Indiana University.
