This prestigious award is granted annually by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation to those who have demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or creative ability in the arts.
The fellowships are awarded through two competitions, one for citizens of the U.S. and Canada, the other for citizens of Latin America and the Caribbean. There are roughly 3,000 applications each year, but only around 175 fellowships awarded, indicating the extraordinariness of the awardees.
Like all Guggenheim fellows listed here, their work helps to explain our world and each other better. The Guggenheim Fellowship supports the tremendous work of gifted scholars like these on our campuses.
