- Bicentennial Medal - 2020
This recognition honors the vision of Georgina Joshi and Louise Addicott-Joshi. The Georgina Joshi Foundation has generously endowed the Five Friends Master Classes Series at the IU Jacobs School of Music, and additional masterclasses at IU South Bend, as well as providing support for countless graduate voice students. Their philanthropic vision funded the renovation of IU South Bend’s recital hall, which is named: The Lousie E. Addicott and Yatish J. Joshi Performance Hall, transforming the venue into a premier performance space for musicians, soloists, and small ensembles. In addition, the state-of-the-art Georgina Joshi Recording Studio has been a vital resource for Jacobs School students, fostering meaningful instruction and collaborative efforts for many, including those interested in the recording arts.
The combined vision of Georgina and Louise has forged and established incomparable pathways of success for students who pursue a life in the expressive arts. They have brilliantly helped IU charter new waters, leaving a grateful School in their awesome wake. Yatish Joshi will accept on behalf of the vision and mission of Georgina and Louise.
