Panayotis G. Iatridis is the Emeritus Professor of Physiology, Biophysics and Medicine and Former Director of Northwest Center for Medical Education in Valparaiso, IN. Dr. Iatridis was a significant figure in the establishment of the IU School of Medicine - Northwest, having become its first director in 1975. He is an internationally ecognized authority on blood coagulation.
Iatridis, a Greek native, graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Athens in 1951. In addition to his position of director, he became an assistant dean in 1979. He remained as the director until his retirement in 1998. Iatridis has been a leader in medical education, having directed development and implementation of the Regional Center Alternative Pathway, the only problem-solving medical curriculum offered in the statewide system and led the medical education delegation in 1992 as part of the People to People Citizen Ambassador Program to Russia, Hungary and Czechoslovakia; led a similar delegation in 1984 to the People's Republic of China.
