Huda Salman earned her M.D. in 1991, M.A. in 1994, and Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Jordan. She completed her residency at Cornel Medical College in 2001, her post-doctoral fellowship at the Albert Einstein Medical College in 2003 and 2008, and a fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2004. The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) appointed Salam as the executive director of the Brown Center for Immunotherapy in 2021. At IUSM, Salman also holds the title of Don Brown Chair in Immunotherapy and professor of medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology.
Prior to joining the IUSM faculty, Salam worked at Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Cancer Center, where she founded the hematological malignancies section as well as the Cancer Center Adolescence and Young Adult Program. A leukemia survivor herself, Salman’s clinical expertise is focused on hematological malignancies and bone marrow transplantation, and cellular therapy, particularly for acute and aggressive lymphomas. Her most recent work on CAR T-cell and immunotherapy is extramurally funded and very well-received in the medical community.
Throughout her robust research, teaching, and practicing career, Salman has authored several articles related to her research interests that have appeared in numerous, prestigious publications, including the National Library of Medicine.
