- IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2021
Eskenazi Health offers high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused health care to the residents of Marion County and central Indiana. In 2016, the organization partnered with the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health to establish the Eskenazi Health Scholars Program. The program supports students enrolled in the Master of Health Administration and Master of Public Health dual degree program by providing a number of scholarships and hands on training opportunities within the health system. A senior administrator mentors Eskenazi Health Scholars in organizational responsibilities, career development, and professional networking. Each scholar also completes a significant project and a full summer internship working on a real-world challenge that Eskenazi Health is facing. Eskenazi Health is assisting the Fairbanks School of Public Health in providing the most comprehensive, relevant, and transformative MHA/MPH dual degree training in the United States. The Fairbanks School of Public Health is pleased to honor Eskenazi Health as this year’s Spirit of Philanthropy recipient.
