Dr. Tarah Ballinger earned her B.S. in biochemistry and philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 2006 and her M.D. from Indiana University (IU) in 2012. She completed her internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University and her oncology fellowship at IU. She began her teaching career at the IU School of Medicine (IUSM) in 2017 as an assistant professor of clinical medicine. In 2021, she earned the additional, honorary title of Vera Bradley Foundation Scholar.
Bradley’s research and clinical practice with the Catherine Peachey Prevention Program and IU Simon Cancer Center focuses on breast oncology and breast cancer prevention. Her research primarily attempts to understand the relationship between body composition and the cancer continuum.
Throughout her robust practicing, teaching, and researching career, Ballinger has earned several honors and awards. She was a recipient of the Career Development Award, which was presented to her by the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2019.
