About Angela Smith

Angela has been a tremendous force with the Groups Alumni Association where she served as president from 2019-2021. During this time, the board grew from 4 people to 25 engaged members. Angela secured funding to furnish laptops for Groups Scholars who didn’t have the necessary technology when they arrived on campus. She also worked with leadership to secure a grant to provide special gifts to the Groups Scholars who graduated in 2020. You may remember that this class did not get an in person Commencement experience. This gesture helped turn an uncertain time into a special moment. She connected Groups alumni and students to engagement and career development opportunities. In 2022, she was elected to the Executive Council for a three-year term starting in July.
