About David George Sussman

David George Sussman earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Swarthmore College, and he went on to receive his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1999. His areas of specialization include ethics, moral psychology, and Kant, Sussman began his teaching career at Indiana University (IU) in the Department of Philosophy as the Oscar R. Ewing Associate Professor of Philosophy and Director of Graduate Admission in the Department.

Prior to joining the IU faculty, Sussman held teaching roles related to philosophy and ethics at Princeton University, Harvard University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His work mainly focuses on social and political philosophy, philosophy of religion, German idealism, existentialism, and Wittgenstein. Sussman has authored one book, The Idea of Humanity: Anthropology and Anthroponomy in Kant’s Ethics, and numerous essays, papers, and presentations on topics related to ethics, morals, and psychology.
