About Herman Oliver

Herman Oliver, MPA’81, of Indianapolis has a very long connection with the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs where, at the IUPUI campus, he earned a master’s degree in public administration. Within the school, Herman has served on their Alumni Board and the Dean’s Advisory Board in several roles, including president and chair respectively, in addition to O’Neill’s IUPUI Alumni Council. It was on this latter group that he mentored a still-new volunteer, Kathy Koehler. Herman was an active member of the IUAA Executive Council for almost a decade, serving as his school’s representative and as an at-large member. Whenever asked to pitch in, Herman’s leadership and thoughtfulness have shown through. He has been a mentor for alumni and students alike and has been a judge for the Top 100 and a frequent participant at the Alumni Leaders/Hine Medal Dinner.
