About Bridget Marie Stomberg

Bridget Marie Stomberg earned her bachelor’s and master's degrees in accounting from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business in 2000 and 2002, respectively. She went on to earn her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her teaching career at the Indiana University (IU) Kelley School of Business in 2017 as an assistant professor. She was later appointed to associate professor and faculty chair of the undergraduate program in 2019.

Prior to joining the Kelley School of Business faculty, she worked as a tax manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 2002 to 2007, a tax director at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro in 2007, and a director of tax at Insight Enterprises from 2008 to 2009. Her teaching career began when she took an assistant professor position at the University of Georgia’s Tull School of Accounting in 2013. She taught there until 2017 when she took a teaching position at IU. Stomberg’s research focuses on how tax policies influence corporate operations and the intersection between financial reporting regulations and taxes.

Stomberg’s tax-focused research has been published in numerous notable publications, including The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research. She also launched a podcast in July of 2021, titled Taxes for the Masses, with an associate professor of accounting from the McCombs School of Business in Austin, Texas. The podcast aims to inform the average individual about tax-related topics in easily understandable language.
