Brandon Brown studied political philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of Dallas and earned graduate degrees from Indiana University in medicine and philosophy.
He is John W. Beeler Professor and Vice-Chair of Radiology in the Indiana University School of Medicine, with appointments in the departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Philosophy, and Medical Humanities at Indiana University. His clinical research involves quantitative MRI for the in vivo placenta, and for pregnancies with complex fetal anomalies.
Dr. Brown serves the American Academy of Pediatrics on the executive committee for Radiology, and also on the Section for Bioethics. He is a director of the board for the Society for Pediatric Radiology and the Association of Academic Radiologists. He has delivered more than 100 invited lectures on the topics of medical/fetal ethics, and medical professionalism, and fetal imaging.
He practices as a Perinatal Radiologist at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, and teaches in the IU School of Medicine, and in the School of Liberal Arts at IU-Indianapolis
