IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2022

About David A. Bleeke

A 1964 alumnus of the IU School of Dentistry, Dr. David A. Bleeke practiced in Fort Wayne. He has served the Indiana University Fort Wayne campus through his career in a variety of roles: allied dental faculty, volunteer, and esteemed friend and mentor. He rendered distinguished service to the dental profession through his service to the Indiana State Board of Dental Examiners, the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, and the Northern Indiana Society for Occlusal Studies.

A longtime philanthropic supporter of the School of Dentistry, his generous gifts recently enabled the renovation of the IU Fort Wayne dental clinic—one now named in his honor—among other projects. In 2021, he established the Dr. David A. Bleeke Fort Wayne Allied Dental Programs Scholarship, providing much-needed financial support to IUFW allied dental program students. His generosity adds to the vitality of the IU Fort Wayne campus for generations to come.
