IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2022

About Jane M. Skelton

IU School of Nursing wishes to honor Mrs. Jane Skelton for the 2022 Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Her generous contributions over the years have granted countless opportunities for multiple generations of nursing students. A graduate of the class of 1960, Jane has dedicated her life to making the most of her education, as well as giving back. Jane and her family have continuously supported the IU School of Nursing for nearly 50 years. Her contributions to the Class of 1960 BSN Nursing Scholarship offers support to nursing students in need of financial assistance. She and her husband, Larry, also founded their own scholarship—the Skelton Family Scholarship. This scholarship provides financial support for five years. Jane Skelton’s generosity is a true testament of what it means to invest in the future of our nurses, which is needed now more than ever.
