About Mary Joy Stead

The Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI has received generous donations from philanthropists Mary and Jerre Joy Stead. They aim to provide insights into philanthropy and help non-profits and donors improve their philanthropic efforts. Mary Joy Stead is a dedicated volunteer who has devoted her life to family and charitable causes. Jerre L. Stead, who is the CEO of Clarivate Analytics plc, has led ten major national and international corporations. The Steads have been long-time supporters of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and established the Stead Family Chair in International Philanthropy in 2014. The Stead Family Chair conducts research and translates new knowledge into improvements in the practice of international philanthropy. It educates new philanthropic leaders in the international arena and leads to new opportunities for education and training in international philanthropy. Jerre Stead has served on the school's Board of Visitors since 2011 and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree by Indiana University in 2018.
