Dr. Davis is a licensed psychologist and clinical professor of psychology at Indiana University Kokomo. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Fisk University, master’s degree in counseling at University of Texas at San Antonio, and doctoral degree in counseling psychology at Ball State University. Dr. Davis helped create and serves as the director of the Mental Health Counseling graduate program at IU Kokomo. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses across the curriculum but with a special focus to infuse issues of equity and inclusion throughout her courses. She serves as a mentor to several current and former students who primarily from historically excluded backgrounds, first generation college students, veterans, parents and others. She also lectures at community agencies and other academic institutions with a focus on mental health and inclusion. Her research focuses on mentoring, relationships (romantic, social and interpersonal), and supporting historically excluded students in higher education settings. She serves on the editorial board of The Counseling Psychologist and previously served as a council member to the Midwestern Psychological Association Council and board member to the Society for the Future of Higher Education. Dr. Davis loves to provide opportunities for her students to learn and explore the world through regional and national psychology conference trips and study abroad experiences that have engaged with mental health in Western Europe with the most notable site visit being to Dementia Village in Weesp, The Netherlands.
