- IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2025
Since 2017, Steven Sullivan and Jake Peacock have held the Jeanne & Martha Fore a Cure golf outing in honor of their mothers, Jeanne Potts and Martha Sullivan. Jeanne Potts lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer on June 21, 2021. Martha is a survivor of acute myeloma leukemia and Jeanne. In gratitude for the research that led to the therapies that their mothers received and to continue to honor these courageous women, their sons, Steven Sullivan and Jake Peacock, partnered together to establish the Jeanne & Martha Fore A Cure Fund at IU in 2022. Since then, IU has been the recipient of $117,000 in support of cancer research. This year, the gentlemen are on target to donate nearly $100,000 from their efforts. Their gifts support the work of nearly 300 researchers who investigate everything from understanding the molecular changes that cause cancer to the development of targeted therapies to prevent and treat cancer.
