David G. Bivin is a professor emeritus of economics in the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. He earned a B.S. from Ball State University in 1976, a M.S. from Purdue University in 1977, and a Ph.D. from Purdue in 1980. Bivin joined IUPUI’s faculty in 1985 and taught at the School of Liberal Arts until his retirement in 2018. He also served as the coordinator of the Master of Arts Program in Economics and tournament director of the IUPUI College Bowl. Prior to joining IUPUI, Bivin served as assistant professor of economics at Oklahoma State University. His academic interests include macroeconomics, inventory investment and business cycles, and time series econometrics. In 1996, Bivin received a Fulbright award to serve as a Fulbright Teaching Scholar at Tallinn Technical University in Tallinn, Estonia.
