James Bever received a Ph.D. from Duke University in 1992. He is a Professor of Biology at IU, focusing on the research areas of Ecology, Evolution, Microbial Interactions and Pathogenesis. Professor Bever has received an NSF Career Grant, and an IU Oustanding Junior Faculty Award. He was a 2006 Fullbright Fellow (Australia) and a Bullard Fellow (Harvard).
In 2012, Professor Bever was elected as a fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
