Romane Clark was a professor emeritus of philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington. He joined IU’s faculty in 1970 as a professor of philosophy and served on faculty until his retirement in 1990. Prior to his appointment at IU, Clark served as a professor at Duke University from 1953 to 1970 and an instructor at Iowa State University in 1953. Clark received his A.B. in 1949 and his Ph.D. in 1952 from Iowa State University. He served with the United States Army Air Force from 1944 to 1945. Clark served as a senior fellow for the National Endowment for Humanities in 1974 and a Fulbright senior scholar awarded in 1980. He has been listed as a noteworthy philosopher and educator by Marquis Who’s Who and was a member of the American Philosophical Association and the American Association of University Professors. Clark passed away on August 17, 2007.
