David Dilcher is Professor Emeritus of Biology at Indiana University Bloomington. He received his B.S. Natural History, University of Minnesota, 1958 and Ph.D. Biology and Geology, Yale University, 1964. Among his many awards include two Guggenheim Fellows, election to the National Academy of Science, Honorary Degrees from Lyon University (France) and the University of Minnesota, the National Friendship Award from the People's Republic of China, and election as fellow to the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dr. Dilcher's research interests include: Geological Sciences, Paleobotany, Plant Evolution, Paleoclimate, Origins of the Angiosperms, Atmospheric CO2 and Climate History, Paleocene Phytogeography, and Plant-Animal Coevolution.
