Professor Cox earned a B.S., 1971, from Utah State University, his J.D., 1974, from University of Utah, and an LL.M., 1980, University of Virginia. Before joining the Indiana faculty in 1986, Paul N. Cox was a professor of law at Valparaiso University, 1980-86, and a visiting professor at the school of law at the University of Utah, 1984; William Mitchell College of Law, 1985; and Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, 1985-86.
While a student at Utah, he served on the Utah Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Following law school, he served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force; served as law clerk to the Honorable Robert H. McWilliams, United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit; and worked briefly at various times for several law firms.
He published extensively in a variety of journals and is the author of a treatise on the law of employment discrimination.
