Dr. Kasle was chairman of the Department of Radiology from 1972 to 1990. He has served on various university committees over the years.
Dr. Kasle has received many awards and honors including Award for Excellence in Dental Research, 1973; Lord Chaim Research Award from the First District Dental Society of New York; Fellow, American Academy of Dental Radiology, 1977; Fellowship, American College of Dentists ADA meeting, 1981; Diplomate, American Board of Maxillo-Facial Radiology, 1981; and Alpha Omega Fraternity Distinguished Alumnus Award, 1985.
He has held various offices in professional societies including Chairman, Oral Radiology Section annual session, American Association of Dental Schools, 1982; President, 36th annual session of the American Academy of Dental Radiology, 1985-86; secretary, Academy of Oral Diagnosis, Radiology, and Medicine, 1986-88; and Vice Chairman, Pierre Fauchard Academy; President, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor fraternity.
Dr. Kasle has prepared numerous television tapes and has presented extensive courses over the years. He has been an active presenter at clinics and conferences in his field. He has published extensively with popular dental radiology textbooks, chapters, and articles in prestigious journals. Several books are still being used in dental school programs. Dr. Kasle retired from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1990.
