Dr. Havlik joined the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1993. He received his Bachelor's in Science from the University of Michigan and went on to complete his degree of medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Havlik stayed on at Yale University in New Haven to complete his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residencies. Dr. Havlik furthered his surgical training by doing two fellowships. His first fellowship was at Harvard Medical School in Hand and Microvascular Surgery. The next year he participated in a Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, at the University of Pennsylvania.
After completing his extensive training Dr. Havlik joined the faculty at the IU School of Medicine. Dr. Havlik is the Medical Director of Craniofacial Services at Riley Hospital for Children. He directs this multi-disciplinary office to ensure that patients with craniofacial anomalies get comprehensive care in all aspects of recovery for these patients. His focus and dedication to plastic surgery, specifically pediatric plastic surgery has helped many patients and families that are a part of the Craniofacial services at Riley Hospital for Children.
