About Richard C. Rink

Dr. Rink received his M.D. from Indiana University in 1978. He served as an Intern and General Surgery Resident at Emory University in Atlanta. He returned to Indiana University for his Urology Residency, which he completed in 1984. Following this, he went to The Children's Hospital in Boston, Harvard University, for his Pediatric Urology Fellowship. He joined the IU Medical School Department of Urology faculty in 1984.

In 1989, Dr. Rink was appointed Chief of Pediatric Urology at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children. In 1997 - 1998, he served as Acting Chairman of the Department of Urology at Indiana University.

Dr. Rink is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Pediatric Urology, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of University Urologists, the European Society of Pediatric Urology, and the Societe International d'Urologie.) He has served on the Executive Boards of the Urology Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons and the North Central Section of the American Urologic Association. He is the former President of the Urology Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons and the American Association of Pediatric Urologists.

Dr. Rink's expertise is in the fields of complex reconstruction of the lower urinary tract and congenital genital anomalies. He has many national and international Visiting Professorships discussing these topics. He has received many honors, including being voted to "American Best Doctors" by his peers, "America's Top Rated Physicians" the past five years and he has also received the Outstanding Teacher Award for Surgical Sub-Specialties at Indiana University.
