Physician, community activist, and civil rights leader, Dr. Roland Chamblee received the Methodist AME Church Award, the Urban League Award, the Catholic Action Award, and the Brotherhood Award of the National Conference of Christians and Jews for his work with, among others, the NAACP, Urban League, and United Negro Council. The highlight of his medical career, typified by pro bono work caring for the disadvantaged, was co-founding the Sister Maura Brannick Clinic in an impoverished area of South Bend, Indiana.
