Professor Golichowski received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana in 1967, his Doctor of Philosophy from Indiana University in 1976, and his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University in 1974. He is presently Director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at the IU School of Medicine.
His professional memberships include: Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Chemical Society, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Diabetes Association, Indianapolis Medical Society, Indiana State Medical Association, Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, Society for Gynecologic Investigation, and Society of Perinatal Obstetricians.
Among the many committees that Professor Golichowski has served or presently serves on are the following: IUMC Committee on Protection of Human Subjects, Indiana University Biomedical Research Committee, Stephen Beering Award Committee (Chairman - 1989/90), Academic Standards Committee, Pediatric Care Review Committee, Ad Hoc Medical Advisory Committee for Nutrition and Dietetics, and Resident Education Committee.
His community involvement has included such committees as: Governor's Handicap Prevention Committee, Comprehensive Maternal and Child Health Care Project Advisory Board, Indianapolis Campaign for Healthy Babies (Evaluation and Monitoring Committee), Drug-Affected Babies Task Force, Indiana State Department of Health Perinatal Network Initiative, and presently the Diagnostics Division of the Bayer Corporation (Physician Advisory Panel Member). Professor Golichowski is the author or co-author of numerous papers and two book chapters.
