About James J. Robinson

James Jaquess Robinson was a member of Indiana's School of Law faculty. He founded the Institute of Criminal Law Administration, instituted the training of state police, and drafted statutes to improve the court system and the administration of criminal law. His role was fundamental in organizing federal rules of criminal procedure; he drafted the plan which governed the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, and helped prosecute the war criminals arranged there.

Robinson was the only American appointed by a foreign nation to its Supreme Court, and he served in Libya for almost two decades.
