Joseph Victor Heffernan earned outstanding distinction in the field of television. As a major executive of the National Broadcasting Company, he was responsible for financing and directing the expansion of color television, and held important positions in other fields of national and international communication.
Heffernan's background in law while at Indiana University served as a strong foundation during his work, and his personal interest in promoting the Arts extended outward in a variety of ways, to the benefit of many others.
