- Distinguished Alumni Service Award - 1978
Martin Luther Conrad received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and the Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Chicago, therefore provided with a solid academic background that preceded his distinguished career, of over fifty years, in law. In addition to his professional practice in Indianapolis, Indiana, he served for many years as a highly respected member of the faculty of the Indianapolis Law School.
Conrad's second vocation centered around the development of his extensive agricultural holding, and his undergraduate experience as a member of the Marching Hundred gave him an enduring interest in the young people who continue that Indiana University tradition. Active in the alumni association in Indianapolis, he continued his interest in and support of IU, demonstrating his devotion through many gifts of farm and ranch properties in Indiana and Mississippi to the IU Foundation
