John J. Patrick received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1957, and earned an Ed.D. from Indiana University in 1969. After finishing school, Patrick spent his career as a Professor of Education in the School of Education at Bloomington. Patrick has also served as Director of the Social Studies Development Center and as Director of the ERIC Clearinghouse for Social Studies/Social Science Education at I.U. Along side his career in education, Professor Patrick has written and co-authored several publications focused on history and civic education, as well as political thought. Most notably are The Oxford Guide to the U.S. Government, and The Supreme Court of the United States: A Student Companion, both published in 2001.
