William P. Hojnacki completed a Bachelor of Arts in Science from Western Michigan University in 1966, and earned a Masters and PhD from the University of Notre Dame in 1977. He was a professor at Indiana University South Bend, where he served as the campus dean of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs from 1977 to 2006.
He was a former member of the South Bend Community School Board, Northern Indiana Historical Society Board of Trustees, and the South Bend Re-Development Commission. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Teachers Credit Union.
