About Jason C. Vuic

Jason C. Vuic is an Assistant Professor of History at Bridgewater College in Virginia. He teaches modern European and world history as well as courses on genocide and history through film. He earned his B.A. in history from Wake Forest University (1994), his M.A. in modern European history from the University of Richmond (1997), and his Ph.D. in Balkan and East European history from Indiana University-Bloomington (2005).

Vuic is a specialist in the history of former Yugoslavia and in 1997-98 was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, and in 2000-01 was a Fulbright Scholar at the Institute for Ethnology and Folklore Research at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. From 2002 to 2006, he served as the Assistant Director of the Center for Slavic and East European Studies at the Ohio State University, and was chief organizer of the Midwest Slavic Conference from 2004 to 2006. He has published articles and op-eds in the South Slav Journal, Serbian Studies, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Indianapolis Star. His next project is a book-length history of the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics.
