- Herman Frederic Lieber Award - 1973
William Brennan joined the faculty at IU Bloomington as an instructor of health and safety in the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation in 1958. He was promoted to assistant professor of health and safety education in 1962, and to associate professor in 1970. He was awarded the Herman Frederic Lieber Award from IU in 1973. The additional title of associate professor of education, part-time, was added in 1977. Brennan retired in 1983, with the title associate professor emeritus of health and safety education.
Brennan passed away on October 22, 1999, in Fort Myers, Florida.
