- Lieber Memorial Associate Instructor Award - 1966
Henry C. Bock served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1955-1957. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1962, and a Master of Arts in Anatomy and Physiology. Bock completed his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1968. In the late 70’s, he began traveling with the medical/safety team of the United States Auto Club. In 1982, he was named medical director of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In 1996, when Indy Racing League (IRL) was established, he assumed the position as the medical director for the league. In addition to overseeing the infield Medical Center, Dr. Bock traveled to many IRL events and conducted crash tests and research as a means to improve driver safety.
