About Kathryn A. Henderson

Kathryn A. Henderson received her B.A. from George Washington University in 1998. She then earned her M.A., a Certificate, and her Ph.D. from Indiana University in 2001, 2003 & 2005 respectively.

Henderson has served as a Graduate Assistant, a Lab Instructor, and an Instructor in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University. Henderson's research interests focus on sociology of the family, work & occupations, sociology of sex & gender, aging & the life course, and quantitative & qualitative methodology.

Henderson serves as a member of the American Sociological Association, the North Central Sociological Association, the Southern Sociological Society, and the Sociologists for Women in Society.

Henderson has been the recipient of a Tuition Fellowship from Indiana University since 1997, a Travel Grant from Indiana University in 2000, the Preparing Future Faculty Shadowing Grant from Indiana University in 2001, the Faculty Fellow Award from Depauw University from 2001 to 2002, the Edwin H. Sutherland Award from the Department of Sociology at Indiana University in 2002, the Lieber Associate Instructor Award from Indiana University in 2003, a Graduate Research Fellowship from the Department of Sociology at Indiana University in 2004, a Research Award from the Graduate and Professional Student Organization at Indiana University in 2004, a Grant-In-Aid Research Award from the University Graduate School at Indiana University in 2004, and a Dissertation Improvement Grant from the National Science Foundation also in 2004.
