Martha Mae Rohlfing is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in German from Indiana University, where she also was honored with a distinguished teaching award. She has taught at the secdonary and college level as well as in business settings and adult education. Her professional background also includes nonprofit communications and public affairs, including 11 years at the Illinois Bankers Association. In 1988 she earned her M.B.A. in Marketing at DePaul University. A member of the Treasurer’s Office staff since 2005, she is particularly interested in empowering women to manage their finances wisely as the foundation for achieving their personal and professional goals.
