Raja Sooriamurthi is a clinical Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has been on the faculty of the computer science department at Madurai Kamaraj University in India and the University of West Florida. In addition to his research in artificial intelligence, he has won several awards in recognition of his teaching excellence.
At the Kelley School, Sooriamurthi serves as the undergraduate advisor for the Information Systems department, the faculty advisor for the CIS club, the faculty advisor for Alpha Iota Delta and the secretary-treasurer for the national Alpha Iota Delta society. At the university level, he is the faculty advisor for the student organization Nirmaan, and a resident fellow in Read hall. He has also served as the vice-president for public relations in Bloomington's Goodmorning Toastmasters club.
A native of India, Sooriamurthi first came to Bloomington at the age of 3 while his father was working on his doctorate at IU. After completing an undergraduate degree in computer science and engineering in India, he returned to IU for his doctoral studies in computer science and cognitive science.
