Richard W. Houston has a B.S. from Washington and Lee University, and an M.B.A. and Ph.D. from Indiana University.
While a doctoral student at Indiana, Professor Houston was selected for the Deloitte and Touche Fellow, American Accounting Association Doctoral Consortium Fellow, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Doctoral Fellowship Grant, and American Accounting Association Doctoral Fellowship Grant. He was also awarded the 1994 Lieber Associate Instructor Award, the 1993 William G. Panschar Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award, and the 1991 Schuyler F. Otteson Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Award.
Professor Houston is now Director of the Master of Accountancy Program. His articles and commentaries have appeared in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Accounting and Business Research, Internal Auditor, The International Journal of Auditing, Behavioral Research in Accounting, and Issues in Accounting Education. Dr. Houston currently is the co-editor of Current Issues in Auditing.
