Suzanne Walker received her B.A. from the University of Indianapolis, and her M.A. and Ph.D. (1990) from Indiana University. She specializes in communication apprehension and the role of empathy in communication.
In 1999, Dr. Walker was appointed to the faculty at Marietta College in Ohio as an Associate Professor of Communication, and Assistant Dean for First Year Experience and Advising. She teaches a variety of courses, including Basic Public Speaking, Fundamentals of Oral Interpretation, Persuasion, Integrated Marketing Communication, and Parliamentary Procedure.
Outside of the College, she is very active in community theatre both acting and directing with the Mid-Ohio Valley Players and the Showboat Becky Thatcher. She also occasionally consults with area organizations concerning meeting and presentation skills.
