Dr. Maki is an outstanding mathematician and educator. He has been the principal investigator on the Indiana Mathematics Initiative Partnership, a Cohort 1 MSP project, and thus brings a strong commitment to and knowledge of the MSP program.
Dr. Maki received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, and then joined the faculty of Indiana University Bloomington where he became a full professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics. He is the author of numerous books and articles on finite mathematics and mathematical modeling, as well as on mathematics teaching and learning. Among his many honors, he has been a Fulbright Research Fellow and a governor of the Mathematical Association of America.
