Dr. David A. Williams earned his B.A. in biology from Indiana State University, and his M.D. from Indiana University’s School of Medicine. His pediatric residency was completed at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, and his research fellowships were completed at Harvard Medical School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Cancer Research, and the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.
Before moving to the Indiana University faculty, Williams was the Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. At I.U., he became the Frieda and Albrecht Kipp Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Medical and Molecular Genetics at Indiana University’s School of Medicine at Indianapolis in 1995.
Dr. Williams received the William Dameshek Award from the American Society of Hematology and Glenn R. Irwin Research Scholar Award from Indiana University and Purdue University.
