Paul H. Gebhard, born July 3, 1917 in Rocky Ford, Colorado earned his B.S., Harvard University (1940), and Ph.D., Harvard University (1947) before joining the Department of Anthropology at Indiana University in 1947. Paul Gebhard was Alfred C. Kinsey’s colleague from 1946 to 1956. After Kinsey’s death, Dr. Gebhard succeeded him as Director of the Kinsey Institute where he remained until his own retirement in 1982.
He is the author of The Kinsey Data: Marginal Tabulations of the 1938-1963 Interviews Conducted by the Institute for Sex Research.
Dr. Gebhard passed away on July 9, 2015 in Bloomington, Indiana.
