About Bruce Hinton

Bruce Hinton is chairman of MCA Nashville. For the 10th consecutive year, the company has been named the top country label by leading industry publications such as Billboard and Radio and Records. Award-winning artists Vince Gill, Reba McEntire, and Trisha Yearwood all call MCA Nashville home.

A native of Tell City, Ind., Hinton began his music career at Warner Bros. Records in New York in 1960. He quickly rose to the head of national promotion for Warner/Reprise and relocated to their headquarters in Los Angeles. He joined Columbia Records in 1965 as western promotion manager, then advanced to New York as director of the custom label group at CBS Records. Hinton co-founded the first national independent country record promotion company and later co-founded a production company. In 1984, he moved to Nashville upon being named senior vice president and general manager of MCA Nashville. In 1989 he was promoted to president and then to chairman in 1993.

Hinton, who received a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University, serves on the board of the Sports and Entertainment Academy of the Kelley School of Business.
