Jeffrey C. Dixon was born in Dayton, Ohio, and received his B.S. summa cum laude in Secondary Education from Wright State University in 1999. He then earned his M.A. in 2001 and his Ph.D. in 2006 in Sociology from Indiana University, with a minor in research/quantitative methods. Dixon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts.
His previous research has appeared in such journals as Social Forces, Public Opinion Quarterly, British Journal of Sociology, International Migration Review, Social Science Quarterly, The Journal of Political and Military Sociology, and Teaching Sociology. His current research examines public opinion toward the European Union (EU) enlargement, job insecurity, and liberal-democratic values in the EU and Turkey. Dixon teaches seminars on the European Union and Turkey, as well as research methods, sociological perspectives, and social class and power.
