- School of Dentistry Distinguished Alumni Award - 1969
Perry Ratcliff was a professor emeritus in the Division of Periodontology at the University of California - San Francisco School of Dentistry, eventually becoming chairman of the division. Ratcliff received his D.D.S. from Indiana University in 1939, and served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps during WWII. For his work during the war, Ratcliff was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the Five Campaign Bronze Stars.
He had a private practice in Scottsdale, AZ for twenty-five years, and was a prolific author. Ratcliff also was an inventor, developing dental products through Rowpar Pharmaceuticals. He was past president of the American Academy of Periodontology, a member of the AAP, ADA, FACD, FICD, FAAAS, and the Western Society of Periodontology and the Arizona Society of Periodontists.
